MEP applications

Mep Sport

MEP Sport revolutionized the way that sport injuries in physical therapy are being treated, and is used by the majority of football teams in Argentina as well as multiple national sports teams throughout Latin America.

In musculoskeletal conditions the technique produces a high acute inflammatory response with a large number of inflammatory cells, edema and tissue injury. Results are achieved within the first session in pathologies where other treatment techniques have failed to have the same immediate response.

  • Supraspinatus syndrome.
  • Rotator cuff pathology.
  • Medial & Lateral epicondylalgia .
  • Patellar tendinopathy.
  • Achilles tendinopathy.
  • Plantar fasciitis.
  • Pubic symphysis pain.
  • Adductor tendinopathy.
  • Fibrosis.
  • Myofascial trigger points.
  • Acute, sub-acute and chronic muscle lesions.
  • Neuropathic scar pain.
  • Periostitis.
  • Trigger finger.
  • Rhizarthritis

Mep Beauty

MEP Beauty is used in the aesthetic treatment of stretch marks and wrinkles.
Brazilian researchers, Guirro & Guirro, developed the technique in the 90’s called microgalvanic puncture/electro lifting.
It consists of the application of a micro galvanic current with a very small hand acupuncture needle along the wrinkles and stretch marks.

In the treatment of wrinkles the technique triggers an inflammatory response that produces collagen neogenesis, which gives the skin a more natural appearance as the wrinkled skin becomes filled. Permanent changes are visible in approximately 5 sessions.

In stretch marks the technique causes changes in the depth and colour of the mark, leaving the skin similar in appearance to the non-affected area. A noticeable difference can be expected in approximately 7 sessions.

Ultrasound guided

Performing MEP Sport without ultrasound control has proven to be highly effective. However, to improve profesional expertisse, MEP Sport therapists can train to perform this technique in an ultrasound-guided way.

This means that the professional, during the treatment, will be able to see on the ultrasound monitor the lesion, the needle, the electrolysis in real time, etc.
